Recipe: Mojito

Why does this recipe have sugar and Splenda? I have no idea.


12 fresh mint leaves
2 tsp. sugar
1 envelope Splenda
1/2 lime (2 tbsp.)
1 oz. (2 tbsp.) light rum
Chilled club soda or seltzer water


  1. Put uncut lime in microwave and nuke on high for 20 seconds, to maximize juice.
  2. In a tall glass, place mint leaves with sugar, Splenda, and lime juice. Use a chopstick to mash leaves into sugar and juice until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Stir in rum, add ice cubes, and top off drink with club soda or seltzer water. Stir drink well.
