Every time my web hosting plan comes close to renewing, I get that horrible anxiety.
You see, ever since I started blogging with WordPress (around 2005?), I’ve done the self-hosted kind, even though the under-the-hood technical aspects kind of terrified me.
I’ve had to learn about WHM, mySQL databases, restarting a server, htaccess, tweaking WordPress theme CSS and PHP files, site protection, and all sorts of other technical stuff that I am just no longer interested in.
It’s not fun when things break and you have no idea how to fix them.
I mean, can I just blog, and leave all the technical stuff to the experts? I’m not getting any younger.
So this week, I decided to move my personal blog (and its domain) to wordpress.com.
